Health Informatics
From the clinic to the boardroom, we've connected health system needs to efficient solutions that help deliver better, safer patient care.
MD+A is proud to have played a role in the development and delivery of some of Canada's most innovative and high-profile health informatics initiatives. From the clinic to the boardroom, we've connected health system needs to solutions that can improve efficiency and help to deliver better, safer patient care.
We credit much of our success to our experience working closely with health care providers. By spending time in hospitals and care environments with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other providers, we've been able to study clinical work flow at the front lines. We know that clinical information and decision support systems provide the greatest value when they align with the way providers already work, and their feedback has informed our approaches to usability and implementation. Our broad exposure to physician needs and interests has helped us to inform federal and provincial strategies that position physicians at the heart of e-health adoption.
We have led technology assessment, procurement and implementation projects for a wide range of solutions, including Laboratory Information Systems, Pharmacy Management Information Systems, Clinical Management Systems, Hospital Management Systems, Public Health Information Systems and disease registries.
MD+A has provided resource-constrained nations with road maps for cost-effective health informatics programs.
Respecting Workflow
At one of Canada's largest and most diverse chronic disease and specialty care clinics, MD+A worked directly with physicians to understand their workflow and customize a clinical management system solution that would effectively meet their information needs.
Procurement Support
Working directly with clinical stakeholders, MD+A provided leadership to solution design, implementation planning and procurement management for the effective use of electronic health records in chronic disease management - a key element in the Ontario eHealth Strategy.
