Case Study: Web Renewal Initiative

Our client faced the challenge of addressing diverse and sometimes conflicting user needs within a single information product. Their original corporate website had been developed during a period of significant organizational transformation, and had not scaled or evolved to serve a fundamentally expanded mandate.

MD+A developed a three-year web strategy which included a comprehensive analysis of the agency's strategic priorities and their role in the provincial health system. By conducting more than 15 focus groups and numerous interviews with stakeholders including government, health care providers, regional delivery programs, strategic partners, advocacy groups and patients, we were able to develop an information architecture that could balance competing user needs and provide easy access to targeted information and resources. An innovative approach to packaging the agency's extensive health information inventory has provided opportunities to share content with strategic partner portals.

In order to ensure the sustainability of the web strategy, MD+A developed new governance structures and a refreshed operational model, allowing our client to take full advantage of emerging technologies and efficiencies.
